On their first collection of songs together, 2005’s Superwolf, Sweeney’s electric guitar playing compliments Will Oldham’s voice, while Oldham’s idiosyncratic songwriting blends the two seamlessly. Since then, Oldham has released an avalanche of music, while Sweeney has reunited his ’90s band Chavez.
