Hayden Silas Anhedönia (born March 24, 1998), known professionally as Ethel Cain, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and model. Inspired by Christian music and Gregorian chants, with lyrics focused on nostalgic and Southern Gothic themes, her music has been associated with the ambient, indie rock, and folk genres. She has released multiple extended plays (EPs) on streaming platforms under various aliases, before officially starting her main project in mid-2019.

She began experimenting with "reverb-heavy choral inspired music". As White Silas, she released five extended plays (EPs) on streaming plataforms: Colossus (2017), Arcane Vessels (2018), Sad Music for Sad People (2018) Nightmares (2018) and Mourning After (2019), the latter two being in collaboration with musician Little Triste.
