“(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding”, Nick Lowe

This way: (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding

This really is a great song. Made popular in the 80s by Elvis Costello (produced by Nick Lowe). Bu t I love these slowed down acoustic versions Lowe has done in recent years. Brilliant stuff.

“(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding” is a 1974 song written by English singer/songwriter Nick Lowe and subsequently covered by Elvis Costello to perfection. Originally this song was released in 1974 by Brinsley Schwarz, Nicks first band. Nick Lowe (born 24 March 1949), is an English singer-songwriter, musician and producer. A noted figure in power pop and new wave, Lowe has recorded a string of well-reviewed solo albums. Along with vocals, Lowe plays guitar, bass guitar, piano and harmonica. He is best known for his songs “Cruel to Be Kind” (a US Top 40 single) and “I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass” (a top 10 UK hit), as well as his production work with Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, and others. The version above is from a live show in 2009. You can't beat the slow accustic version of this song.
