“Homer” by Miracle Legion

This way: Homer

Also this way: Homer

Baseball season ends tonight, by hook or by crook. Thanks to Jeff Twiss for guiding us thru the sounds of baseball. I'm trying to convince him he needs a daily Baseball SOTD blog. Am I right? Otherwise the off season looks like a diminished place to be. —Bdev

Somebody told me I needed to listen to this song (It was me!-B deVallance). I can’t remember why…probably because of the line, “You’re too good for Baltimore.”

Miracle Legion were a Connecticut-based band that immediately sprang to life on the heels of a post-R.E.M. guitar rock boom, chiefly because lead singer Mark Mulcahy's voice bore an uncanny resemblance to Michael Stipe's, and the arpeggio guitar structures were akin to Peter Buck's. But the band -- Ray Neal (guitar), Jeff Wiederschall (drums), and Steven West (bass), and later just Mulcahy and Neal -- ultimately became unique in its own right.

In 2016, Miracle Legion staged a reunion tour, and recordings from two of the dates were compiled into a live album, 2017's 'Annulment'.
